Chloe Parker

Chloe Parker’s work originates from her anxiety and how she incorporates the natural world with art as a form of healing. When viewing her work, it is a constant reminder of how nature elevates and comforts her negative thoughts, by transforming it into positive ones. Throughout this project, she has found peace through accepting and understanding her mind, while expressing it through captivating colours and layered abstract shapes.

Inspired by flowers, their presence feels powerful, drawing her in every time she walks past them, feeling like she can breathe. This is something Parker wanted to communicate with her audience, to heighten the idea of art being a form of therapy, specifically linking it to nature. Flowers symbolise growth and fragility, which is what she portrays in her paintings and collages. This is shown through flowing swirls moving across the wood, reaching every corner, as if they are following her healing journey. By layering recycled materials over the backgrounds, which she refers to as the void in her mind, Parker feels like she is covering all her past negative thoughts and struggles, slowly filling that void with blooming colours and textural shape. Chloe Parker invites her audience to heal their mental struggles, getting lost within the artworks and its powerful impact by nature, leading to having respect for the natural environment.
